Mexico Day 2 | Palm Sunday, March 29, 2015

Today was a busy day! Lots of walking and seeing . . . The Shrine of our Lade of Guadalupe was amazing – as always. We began with a short prayer service in the plaza using the reading of the day and praying for those we love. We learned a bit about St. Juan Diego and what happened to make this area so sacred.

We also visited the Cathedral of Mexico City and two museums – one a collection of art work owned by a local bank. They had an amazing Diego Rivera painting. Then we went to the Fred Kahlo museum and everyone enjoyed that!

We drove to Cholula – about two hours south – arriving about 8:00 p.m. We settled in and had dinner of chicken soup, rice, and bean – delicious! After, we had our welcome ceremony of calling of names, collection of phones, and gratitudes. Everyone was so tired they went straight to bed! Busy day tomorrow

  1. Love the pictures and have fond memories of my time at the Basilica of “Lupita” as Our Lady of Guadalipe is affectionately know.
