Day 7 Pine Ridge, Wednesday 6/18/14
Another work day for the volunteers. Half of the group went on a tour of the Reservation visiting Red Cloud School (Chapel, Cemetery, and Heritage Center) lunch at Bettie’s Kitchen and visit to Black Elk’s log cabin, Singing Horse Trading Post, and Oglala College for a presentation on Native American history. Re-Member also hosted a community dinner with residents of the Reservation who brought homemade arts and crafts. We ended our day with a presentation of the creation story of the Lakota people and a T-Shirt swap.
